Black Ness is a boost that adds color and – if you like – dirt. You can adjust it to just above unity level and let it add some sparkling treble and clarity to your clean sound, or you can crank that gain knob more clockwise, and let it drive your already heavy driven tube amp over the top, into high gain metal hell (heaven?).
The circuits heart is a dual jFET OP-amp, giving one input buffer followed by a gain stage. Black Ness fits in a 1590A-size enclosure, and is designed with true bypass.
