<video:description><![CDATA[Please subscribe if you like the vid!

Anyone with mediocre soldering skills, some spray paint and determination and can build this awesome BJFE Bone Bender kit from Moody Sounds like I do in this video.

I even made the enclosure (kind of) similar. Hope you enjoy this build video and it is informative for you.

Here is some info on how BJF says to bias with the inside trimmers:

“A musician’s approach to biasing fuzz pedals

Here’s how I’d set up the bias for any of the above fuzz pedals ( except Square wave)

Set a gutar amplifier up for about 1/4WW to 1 W and hook up the fuzz pedal and connect an electric guitar ( I’d usually use a Telecaster- something single coil is a little easier to work with ) with volume on full.

Then listen to hum as produced through the amp and adjust trimmer for loudest hum and then turn down volume control on guitar slightly and listen and adjust if necessary to make hum gradually go up and down while turning the volume control on guitar.

The hum that is caused by guitar picking up magnetic fields makes for a test signal that can be used to set up performance of the fuzz.

Note how sound changes if bias is slightly off and cutting out sound...”

The pedal test is at the end!]]></video:description>

<video:description><![CDATA[The BYOC Silver Pony is an exact clone of the silver-era Klon Centaur. This video is intended to show how the two pedals are identical in tone and function. I am playing a telecaster directly into Audiobox/Garage band. No amp simulation was used. No effects were used. I chose to record this way so there were no mic/room ambients or distortion from an amplifier/speaker to mask or color any of the subtleties. I wanted the distortion from the pedals to be as naked as possible. The BYOC Super8 programmable looper was used to provide instant switching between the two pedals so that it would be easier to distinguish any differences. www.buildyourownclone.com]]></video:description>

<video:description><![CDATA[A brief demo on how the Carlin DIY ringmodulator can be used together with two monosynths, in this case Arturia Microbrute and Doepfer MS404.

I personally prefer it with monophonic sounds i tune (or evenly dividable frequencies) to keep everything under control. But it is also quite usable as a disharmonic effect when the two soundsources are out of tune or a single polyphonic soundsource.

The Carlin ringmodulator is originlly a swedish 70s design that is available as a DIY kit from Moody Sounds.

<video:description><![CDATA[Moody Sounds replica of the vintage effect Carlin Ringmodulator, manafactued in Sweden in the 1970s. This cool pedal is shown first with just guitar straight in. And then with a fuzz in front. Sorry for not so good sound quality, but I hope you can hear how it sounds differently depending on how hard you play. Also notice the compression it makes and how the sound changes character as a long note fades. This is one of the most inspiring pedal I ever played, I hope you like it too! <video:title><![CDATA[BJFE Bone Bender 1 - Moody Sounds DIY kit build and test]]></video:title>

This is a Moody Echo with a loop. You can connect another pedal to its send /return jacks. The first, direct signal, goes straight through the main pedal but the repeats goes to the send. That means that the repeats are affected by whatever is connected to the loop.

Sounds real cool when used with pedals such as BYOC Armstrong Twin (ring modulator) or BYOC Envelope Filter.]]></video:description>

<video:title><![CDATA[Boobster test]]></video:title>
<video:description><![CDATA[✨This is a little compilation of musicians trying out the Boobster. ✨

🎸Info:
The Boobster is a true bypass boost pedal for electric guitar and bass, based around a standard operational amp TL071. It is adjusted with two control knobs, one for amplification - "boobst" - and one for tone. With the boobst control at minimum setting, the amplification is slightly louder than unity and the signal is not distorted. When the boobst control is turned up the signal gradually becomes louder and the distortion increases. The pedal has two LEDs which are on in effects mode and off in bypass mode. The LED's also indicate the setting of the boobst control in that they shine brighter the more the control is turned up.
The tone control is connected to a combined high- and low pass passive filter. When the tone control is turned all the way to the left, the low pass filter is most prominent. When is turned all the way to the right the high pass filter is most prominent. The settings between the end positions have character of both high and low pass.
The pedal is powered with 9V DC power supply with standard polarity "center negative". Current consumption is depending on the setting of the boobst control. It is about 6mA when in effects mode and when the boobst control is at max. The power current consumption is lower if boobst is turned down or if the pedal is set in bypass mode.

🎨The pedal is designed by Elena Macías from Paws Nap (original idea and artwork) and Albin Roslund from Moody Sounds (circuitry). The Boobster is hand crafted in Sweden by Moody Sounds using Switchcraft tele jacks, Lumberg current jack, and Alpha potentiometers. The artwork is screen printed in Barcelona, Spain,by Taller57.

<video:title><![CDATA[Moody Sounds Heavy Swede - BJF Blot Sacrifice #13]]></video:title>
<video:description><![CDATA[Moody Sounds Heavy Swede - BJF Blot Sacrifice #13:

The BJF Heavy Swede is a real heavy thing, with a SIL OP amp, a BC109 transistor and a vintage germanium transistor, pushing the signal. Even there, it looks promising. We have also provided it with two ge diodes which create a light gate effect and which reduce noise.

The BJF Heavy Swede has a treble control with which you can tap the highest frequencies. It also has three EQ knobs and you can highlight the HEAVY METAL in exactly the right frequency range.

Genuine bypass and 9V power supply with normal polarity.

The BJF Heavy Swede is produced in a smaller series of 24 pedals and this series is called "Blot * Sacrifice". Artwork by Kim W. Andersson. Circuit design: Björn Juhl. The pedals are hand built in Sweden by Moody Sounds. The artwork on the pedal is an engraving and the unique serial number is written in the engraving.

"The word "Blot" in Swedish refers to an ancient Norse ritual involving sacrifice to the gods, often performed in pre-Christian Scandinavia. The English equivalent term for this ritualistic sacrifice is also "Blot." The term has been adopted into English from Old Norse, maintaining its original form and meaning.”

<video:description><![CDATA[I've teamed up with pedal guru Albin Roslund at MoodySounds and the legend himself, Björn Juhl. So, here's some mindless but amazingly fun noodling with Juhl's incredible HM-2 pedal rendition, named "Heavy Swede". It can be purchased as a kit at MoodySounds (https://moodysounds.com/produkt/heavy-swede-kit) or pre-built. The pre-built version will be limited to 24 units only.

The "Heavy Swede" is germanium diode- and transistor-based. It needs a 9V power supply (or battery) with standard polarity—center negative, that is. It's true bypass and is quite an advanced build, thus recommended for intermediate builders, at least.

The tone possibilities here are many. The controls are as follows:

Upper row from left to right: Volume, Hicut, Overload
Bottom row from left to right: Low, Low Mid, High Mid

The pedal box color here is "Wild Forest Green", which can also be bought in different box sizes at MoodySounds. For example, here's the 125B version: https://moodysounds.com/produkt/pedalbox-125b-wild-forest-green.

In the video, I use a Chapman ML3 Pro Traditional guitar, equipped with a Seymour Duncan "Hot Tele" pickup in bridge position, and a Seymour Duncan "Hot Rails Tele" pickup in neck position. Played through an old, crappy Fender digital amp (for now). Future videos will be through all-tube amps.
